The Wood Coatings Research Group, WCRG, maintains research and development facilities located in High Point, North Carolina, dedicated to the testing, research, development, and study of coatings and materials. WCRG is an independent materials science research and development laboratory, and is uniquely positioned and poised to provide unbiased testing and research services. WCRG has a high focus on the study and advancement of coating science and technology.
Analytical laboratory capabilities and equipment include liquid chromatography coupled with UV, RI, and light scattering detection methodologies; gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry; refractive index; Thermal Techniques; UV visible spectrometry; colorimetry; gloss; solids analysis; coefficient of friction; IR spectrometry; etc. An assortment of balances, ovens, and furnaces are available for sample preparation and analysis. Specialized portions of the Analytical Laboratory include a state of the art Rheology Laboratory, and Microscopy Laboratory.
