Wood Coatings Research Group provides failure analysis services to clients desiring insight into why a material has failed in service. Failure of coatings and materials in service can be a source of tremendous liability and financial loss.

Drawing upon its extensive experience in problem solving, formulation, and development, coupled with its testing and analysis facilities, WCRG is uniquely positioned to assist clients in this area. WCRG’s goal is to elucidate the fundamental cause of a given failure or problem and provide guidance for elimination and/or mitigation of further failures. Determination of failure at the mechanistic level also helps to determine where the responsibility lies with the given failure should litigation become necessary.
